I remember your posts from 6 years ago about it. Glad to hear it's
coming along (other than blown TTL chips in the mouse).
Putting USB on this mouse must be an interesting
exercise...
I think any one of a number of sub-$3 microcontrollers with enough
I/O pins (raw quadrature A, raw quadrature B, and 3 buttons) and
a USB stack could do it.
