The commom method used in Brazil is the thread method. If someone is
looking for a particular pulley, drop me a mail and I may be able to find.

Subject: Re: Commodore Datasette belt?
All kind
of belts are easy to be found in Brazil. But I need the
correct
lenght of the belt. Do you have a sample or can you measure it with some
line?
I use 2 methods fro measuring belt length. One is to wrap a bit of string
or thread around the pulleys, mark the overlap, then take it off ant put
a ruler on it.
The other is to measure the diameters of the pulleys and their positions
and to use the Belt Length progam in the HP67 or HP41 Mechanical
Engineerign Pac (Machine Design Pac). Note that this doesn;t work if one
or more of the pulleys runs on the outside of the belt.
Every time I've done this I seem to get answers that agree remarkably
well...
