But just because it has direct mode doesn't mean its Basic. I haven't tried the
very latest VB20xx but VB2008 has a direct mode window in the Visual Studio GUI.....
... and although I make fairly frequent use of it, it doesn't feel like Basic....

"real" BASIC? It was pretty much always a feature of the original, wasn't
it?
