I was going to say much the same as Paul although if the pins of the
crystal corroded off, what about the other components? Presumably they are
all in the same environment so do you have dozens of components that are
falling off?

Hi list,
Would anyone know if I could get a 10.6445MHz crystal for a Dick Smith
System-80
in Australia? This evening I decided to power up mine for the
first time in ages, but the crystal pins were corroded through and it fell
off.
I don?t know if Australia adds any complications. It used to be (I
haven?t tried lately) that crystal manufacturers would happily make
crystals to order for very reasonable prices. So if you can?t find one in
stock, that would be the way to go.
The website isn?t entirely clear, but it looks like the company I used in
the past (International Crystal) still works that way: tell them what you
need and they will make it for you in a couple of weeks, quantity one if
that?s all you want.
