I only started sniping because, back in the early days of ebay, other
people could see what auctions you had outstanding bids on. Others were
watching what I was bidding on and outbidding me. I started sniping so
that nobody could see what I was bidding on until it was too late, and
just kept up the practice because it forces me to bid and walk away.
