Does anyone have information concerning the capability of the Datacopy 300
camera - what formats did it provide for image storage? I may be
If we are talking about the same device...
The Datacopy 300 doesn't provide _any_ internal storage for images. It's
just the camera. It contains a linear CCD image sensor that's
mechanically tracked across the frame. There's electronics in the camera
to control the movement of the sensor, to digitise (and correct) the
pixel intensity values, etc. Mine has a Nikon lens mount on th front, but
that, I suspect is internchangeable so other mounts might have been used.
On the back is a DB25 connector. This is _NOT_ RS232. It's not anything
standard. It's a custom interface carrying power, control lines and data
lines.
I have a PERQ 2 I/O option card which I believe is the interface for this
camera. Sorting out what it does and how to drive it is a project I must
have a go at sometime...
interested in purchasing one depending on the
capabilities. Does anyone
know where I could purchase such a product or obtain detailed information
If you don't know what it can do, or where to find one (I assume they are
not common), then why on earth are you considering it? I can understand
somebody wanting recomendations on a currently-produced device. I can
understand people wanting information on some piece of classic hardware
they've just found. I can also understnad people who want recomendations
on what classic hardware to look for (as so much modern stuff is so
poorly made). But to pick on a particular classic model for no reason
seems a little strange.
concerning its operation.
