Sure, when I said it was straight through, I
didn't mean the wires were all
identical. :-) AUI and standard DA15 cables may not be great interchangeable
substitutes for each other, but it's not impossible, especially over short
distances.
Over 'short distances' you can get away with a lot. I had to make a short
AUI cambe for one system becuase the DA15 socket on the amchine was too
close to other conenctors to allow the transceiver to fit directly. I
found 6" (or so) of IDC ribbon cable with a DA15 plug and a DA15 socket
crimped on worked. It brreaks all the rules, but...
