I hear that one pronounced as letters "EssCueEll" and as a word
"sequel", but I've never seen anyone try to write it any way other
than SQL. Are you saying you've seen it written that way? That
sounds to me like the writer is wallowing in ignorance and only ever
heard the word used and translated it to a common word in English
(which reminds me of the story from The DEC Professional about the
self-taught, insular MicroVAX System Manager who called Field Service
up to say his "Kaypoo Cashay" was broken).
We could have ended up with "puccumsia" :-)
