Oh...you shut your computers down?? Wow, it still amazes me that
some people do that.
I leave my desktop machine on 24x7 because I never know when I
might need something that's on it if I'm away from home. I
frequently log into it from my cell phone via ssh when I'm out and
about if I need to look for something in my notes or whatever.
And (being practical) I'm sitting in front of it nearly all the
time anyway, and it's much less wear and tear on the hardware than
constantly powering up and down.
