I knew a guy that tried to get everyone to call it "squeal", (though he
mostly reserved it for SQL Server) -- sadly he didn't succeed. Kinda
like they tried to get scsi to be pronounced sexy instead of scuzzy, but
in reverse. :)
Saying "SQL" == "squeal" makes me think of engine trouble, to wit, a
belt
and a pulley about to destroy themselves.
