I've been lucky in that my pharmacists have been using labels that peel off pretty

An adhesives expert friend of ours recommended what she uses: WD-40. It is not fast, but
it does a good job getting the adhesive to soften enough to come off. And it doesn?t seem
to bother any commonly used plastic.
For metal or glass or ceramic ? stuff that doesn?t mind nasty solvents ? I always use
laquer thinner. I suspect it?s the toluene that?s one of the components of that mix that
does the job; I used to use xylene before I found that laquer thinner works just as well
without the nasty persistent smell of xylene.
When I was a kid, we had benzene around the house for this sort of thing, but that?s
forbidden by the PC police these days.
