that comes close to what the R-Pi can do for the price they're at.
The Pi is
cheap in the bad sense of this word. AFAIK e.g. the Ethernet
hangs off USB. The connectors are spread around all four edges of the
PCB. This makes it quite hard to put it into a proper enclosure.
