Someone will probably want to control a vacuum-tube (valve) audio
amplifier from a computer at some distant point in the future. Given
the increasing popularity of audio amplifiers with tubes in them, due
to how natural they sound in comparison to transistorized amplifiers
(e.g. when clipping occurs), this shouldn't be surprising.

How often does a home user clip thier 300Watt amplifiers these days?
People buy tube amps because they are made in small quantities and are much
more expensive so it must be better $$$$$$$
