I though the sequence went VT78 (in VT52),
DECmate/VT278 (in VT100),
DECmate II (in big PC like case), DECmate III (in little PC like case),
DECmate III+ (same)
That's the sequence I know of (and I own one of all of those except a
VT78 - it's one of the three types of -8s that I'm missing, along with
an -8/f and -8/m).
Internally, though, I'm pretty sure the VT78 has an IM6100, while all the
rest have IM6120s.
