what they were talking about) was ever under any illusions that all
problems could effectively map to a massively parallel system.
I think (but can't remember for certain) that it was Neil Lincoln who
compared massively parallel processors to using nine women to get a
baby in one month. Some problems just don't parallelize well...
But there are probably not enough of those kinds of problems to build
a computer business around anymore. Not one that makes a profit anyway.
