We created playlists and used the machine at our
wedding last September.
That's how my wife and I did our wedding party as well. I took my main
Linux workstation along, had about 5 hours of MP3s (had to copy them
from the fileserver... that took FOREVER), and my home
stereo (which has
a little bit of kick to it).
We had people from the Inn (Bear Mountain Inn in New York State) coming
in to check out what was going on. I suppose they'd seen me bringing in
this computer, and when they walked by, they saw it was the DJ. :)
And it was supposed to be a technology-free wedding and party.
Infinitely cheaper than hiring someone. And much less annoying. NO
CHICKEN DANCE!
Now, if only my NeXT could have handled the MP3s. That would have been
much cooler.
