Wasn't AMD's chip an Am5x86-133 in reference to it's being
a 5th generation 486 chip.
I believe the Cyrix 586 was 486 series too. Their first
Pentium level offering was the 686, wasn't it?

Cyrix sold their pentium clone as a 586, maybe others too.
