I, and others,
have found out that the US Border guys want to see
FULL customs paperwork for any computer stuff bigger than your
normal PeeCee/Mac/desktop/laptop.
About three years ago I returned from Montreal
with a carful of gear
bestowed on me by Jo Thiemann. US Customs was utterly disinterested.
Customs is a real crapshoot, varying drastically depending on the
officer you get and possibly on other things not easily accessible to
travelers (like, what they've recently been advised to watch for).
There was once I was in a car with a bunch of...NeXTen, I think it was,
and the only thing Customs cared about that time was what country the
things were made in.
But then, I haven't crossed the border with computers often enough to
have all that much data....
