(0) Wasn't there a modification a while back that basically replaced
the hadware that converted from the three-phase to the DC used within
the system, this new hardware supplying the DC directly from another
source?
(1) Maybe it would be cheaper to have the electric company upgrade the
power feed to the site.
Doubt it. They would want you to pick up the cost of adding anything
(wire, transformer, etc) required to add the phase. Think 10's of kilo$'s.
