I use a program that generates SIMH .tap images on a Linux box with
a SCSI TZ30. The TZ30 is pretty easy to disassemble to clean the heads,
which WILL foul attempting to read TK50 tapes. At this point, most
of these tapes have become sticky, and you are unlikely to be able to
read them without having the tape stick to the head when the tape
direction reverses.
