But, it was often there when no other scope would have

Yup! I have a 5xx series Tek, huge and clunky, and also a 2246, which is a
bit more portable, even the accessory pouch to carry the probes and such and
the protective cover to go over the front of it, but I sure wouldn't want
that living in the trunk of my car, and all that entails.
Those little bitty ones, though, look like they'd fit in my toolbox. :-)
