National made a 6-digit fixed-point calculator chip.
Commodore sold a calculator, claimed to be the first
to break the $20 barrier (in 1974 or so), that used
it.
Hmm... that's a promising lead. I should go surf some C= calculator
sites (I just have one Minuteman that mostly works but individual keys
are somewhat sketchy, and it does want four "N" cells).
