The ones with 8 digits installed are
very possibly calculator modules. ?I've never seen this
sort of display with only 6 digits out of 8 populated.
National made a 6-digit fixed-point calculator chip.
Commodore sold a calculator, claimed to be the first
to break the $20 barrier (in 1974 or so), that used
it.
