I'm glad this thread came up. I had plenty of experience with SMD
(and friends), MFM/ST506, and SCSI. But there is a gap of knowledge,
corresponding with my dim recollection of the '80s, regarding ESDI.
Are ESDI drives compatible with ST506 controllers?
Are MFM drives compatible with ESDI controllers?
I assume the answer to both of the above is no, but I'm looking for
definitive verification.
Anyone have information or manuals on the Sigma SCD-RQD11/EC
controller? How about the Dilog DU686?
