Non-sequitur. The discussion target was the old recording technology, not the
modern half (Apple //e) of the scenario.
Ya know, I have the equipment to do that, except the
piezo transducer that
drives the needle in the wax recorder is cracked.
Piezo transducer? To do this properly you have to use an electromagnetic
driver for recording and a carbon microphone for reproduction. Anything
else is cheating.
