I posted a link to that earlier. I think at that time Germany had a
large tax on radios,
more tubes, bigger the tax.
The idea did not catch on. The single glass device was
expensive, and if
any part failed you ad to replace the whole thing. Other radios were much
cheaper to repair.
Two things I think killed that idea .
1) The tax laws may have changed permiting cheaper radios.
2) WWII
