Some US states used to post distance signs in both km and miles, but
I haven't seen one in a long time. (Interstate highway exits are
often given by a number that represents the road distance from the
state border, starting with the southern or western border, depending
upon the orientation of the road). I've never known US speed limts
to have been given in KPH, however--I'd assume that would invite
confusion.
Decimeter... haven't heard that in years.
It's used in some isolated disciplines, such as satellite navigation
and beekeeping. A dm has the pleasant property that one cubic dm is
equal to one liter (or is that "litre"? I'm eagre to enhance my
meagre knowledge of the mattre).
