Card Edge connector was the parallel port of choice on
model 1's,
3's and 4's and vertain model 1000's. Also IIRC the mod 2 , 12 and
16 may ahve had a card-edge parallel port.
Just pulled both my Tandy 1000 cable and my 26-1401. The
1401 is still in it's display bag and shows it is for the Model
I/III/4/4P/4D. It is a 6' ribbon cable, with the card edge connector
on one end and the centronics-style connector on the other. My Model
1000 parallel cable carries p/n 26-289 and the connectors LOOK
identical, though the cable and connectors are shielded vice being a
bare ribbon cable. This cable is a 6' cable meant for non-Tandy
printers with an IBM-style interface.
