Pseudo derives from the Greek ??????, (pseudes) which means "lying". So it means
exactly fake:) Aristophanes in one of his plays even has a Persian ambassador character
named Pseudartabas - "false measure".

OK, but be aware that many people reserve the word "compatible" for only
those machines that are so close that they will run IBM PC software.
C: I didn't say "compatible", but "pseudo-compatible". Pseudo
kinda means "fake-" or "not really-".
