Well, it's always possible to make an external
USB->GPIB adapter. Of
course, you'd be forced to use an OS which supports USB, and that
eliminates DOS and various other small operating systems (which might be
preferrable in many situations).
Erm, Linux kind-of supports it (alpha? or is it beta now?)
