One of the more interesting tidbits I learned last
night was that IBM
didn't get any orders for the S/360 until almost 3 months after the
announcement.
I worked for IBM at the time and if they did not get orders immediately it
is because they were not yet accepting orders. Once the window was opened
they got over two years of production ordered on the first day
