Yeah, I know you can get large drives (I think I saw a 1TB drive on Amazon for ?100-?200
($150~$300) a few weeks back) cheaply now, but his computer was around ~10 years old (so I
wasn't sure about compatibilty issues etc.) and he has higher priorities (mortgage,
kids etc.)

a couple of the latter, actually). About once every couple of years
when a drive gets full, I pull it and buy another...
