For the few products that existed back then, the vendors supplied a sidecar
cartridge/board. It had a lead to go around the back of the PET to the
2nd cassette port. I have a crude line drawing in the manual of one of my
PET products, somewhere. My first PET was a 32K, 9" white, upgrade ROM (3.0),
so I stuffed the firmware in the available sockets.
