Well, theoretically, you could have another program that emulates the
PO server side. It does not need to anything other than get the mails
and talk to the client (over PC serial port).
I was thinking about an SMTP gateway in-to / out-of a
cc:Mail P.O.
Then have fetchmail (et al.) pull email from wherever and feed it into
the SMTP gateway.
My understanding is that the SMTP gateway is out from PO only.
