Most semiconductor manufacturers supply samples free
of charge, simple
by requesting them on their website. DS = Dallas Semi? That's maxim now,
so try
maxim-ic.com. You have to give the right answers though: of
course you have a company and your product will probably sell 1000s. Right?
Otherwise: Farnell has ds1216s in several variations. Perhaps one you
can use.
Update: Maxim came through and sent me a sample. No data sheet sent
with the sample, but the sheet is online in .PDF format.
I was unable to find a Farnell equivalent.
