Last time I had this problem on my 11/34a with the RK05s... I
traced it to DCLO negated. After much further detective work, and
with no small amount of assistance from Tony D and Allison et al., I
found the problem in my case to be the BC11 cable from the Unibus to
the drive electronics reversed at the drive end. Of course it *will*
go in backwards if coerced, and, as you well know... the RK05
electronics are not the sine qua non of accessability. Mine are low
in the rack and I had to lie on my back with a flashlight in my
teeth to work on the unit.... You can imagine the impolite things I
called myself when the trouble came to light. At least I got a good
tour of RK05s and How They Work.
Good luck.
