A 'scope or x-y chart recorder was a standard
output device for just
about any *analogue* computer, Richard.
There were also lots of hybrid analog/digital boxes the US Navy came
up with in the 1950s for adding crude graphics to radar information.
I have one, a Mk 26 Target Designation System, used for real time
manipulation of four directors aiming at four targets. I need the tech
manual, however. It is a very complex analog/digital/mechanical
monster.
