Sam asked about AMD software called AMDOS/29.
In addition to second-sourcing the Intel 8080, and offering an improved
version, the Am9080A (yes, that's a nine in the part number), AMD was of
course famous for their Am2900 bit-slice family. They offered an evaluation
board that used 29xx parts to emulate an 8080, but ran faster than a real
8080.
I don't recall exactly what AMDOS/29 ran on, but it could have been the
8080 emulator board, or some other 29xx-based system.
On a related note:
AMD had a microassembler for the 29xx parts called "AMDASM". It was
available in FORTRAN source code. I'm looking for both the
FORTRAN sources and the AMDASM user manual.
Cheers,
Eric
