If you want components you can replace individually, a heavy coating
of muriatic acid should do the trick. The individual components will
be very small and in aqueous solution, but with enough care, you
should be able to replace them individually.
Ah, so _that's_ what is meant by a 'microcontroller solution' :-)
[Several companies claim to want to sell me 'microcontroller solutions'
(or 'FPGA solutions'). I feel like asking what the devices are disolved
in and how do I recrystalise them]
