But don't assume that's true of everyone. I've used it DAILY, all
day, every day, no joke, since about 1991. My workflows for nearly
everything would be severely impacted if that ability were to suddenly
go away. (which, thankfully, it won't)
That is one really neat feature of X11 that I've always liked.
And that's the thing. It's not a "feature", nor is it some
"copying"
scheme layered atop a windowing system. (like RDP, VNC, etc) It is
*central to the design of the windowing system*. It ALWAYS makes a
network/socket connection to put a window up somewhere. It just happens
to be on localhost much of the time.
Errr, right. But I have a bit of a different definition of "feature". ;)
I often consider a system booting to be a feature. ;)
