current on the Alpha platform.. must have changed along the way then...

OpenVMS Alpha cd's will boot up into a minimal OpenVMS system, you can
exit to dcl and do most commands. OpenVMS VAX
cd's will boot only into
Standalone Backup.
I'm pretty sure the OpenVMS VAX V7.3 CD will boot into a minimal OpenVMS
system.
