In Japan in the early 60's, there were a lot of
three wheel vehicles,
including tractor-trailers, fire engines, even some sort of dumpster
dumper!
There is a considerable pool of three-wheel lorrys in Italy. Anything bigger
will not be able to manoeuvre some of the older parts of towns there. =)
Piaggio makes a model called the Ape, which seems quite handy.
