food for thought... DOS 6.22 with "card services" running will
recognize and use pcmcia.. Card Services was generally
hardware/vendor specific though so you'd need to find the right one.

I'd use DOS, but my 2nd serial port is PCMCIA.
Alternately, if such a thing exists for Windows XP running on a modern
PC with USB serial ports, I'm open to that also.
I need to do some field data collection and I figured someone here might
know of a simple program.
