I have MS DOS 6.22, PC DOS 6.3 from IBM, and Win 3.1 or 3.11 with DOS 6.22. Those were the "possibly heavily customized" versions of DOS. Although using Zenith MS-DOS 3.31 on a Compaq shouldn't cause any problems, a few things, such as MODE.COM were different.
