Yes. Thats my recommendation too. Even newer versions would be mostly

I intended to say: NetBSD 1.x is a good fit for a
486DX33.
But something newer like 4.0 should work OK too, albeit a bit slower
and it will need more RAM.
I am running 1.4.1, netbooted, on a MicroVAX II (9 MB
RAM and not
terribly speedy) so it should be quite okay on a '486. It would run OK
in less RAM, too.
For sure. Around 1999 / 2000 a friend used a VAXstation 2000
running
NetBSD and thttpd as webserver for his personal homepage.
