even as things are now. When I've already put in my best bid, then I don't mind

Excellent
idea. On-line it could be a shorter period, like 5 minutes, but it would
let the price develop to its full potential.
Not an excellent idea as it caters to those people that can be online when
the auction closes and discriminates against those that can't.
