Well, a cable recently sold for US$1.00 on Vintage Computer Marketplace (I
bought it). Deals are still to be found. --P
I have found new-in-bag GPIB cables at the university surplus depot at
Ohio State in the assorted cables box (free for the taking when you buy
a CPU). I presume they were bought for HP plotters and never taken off
the shelf. One disadvantage is that they tend to be the single-ended
kind, not the stackable ones, but for a single disk drive (or the last
disk drive on a chain), they work fine.
Just another possible source, if you have a local university with a public
surplus program.
