He'll need the information about how to get at the CMOS SETP program (in
firmware :-)
But that's probly not what he means by WIN OP SYS SETUP
For DOS usage, he should get the MODE.COM (the main difference between
Compaq MS-DOS and generic)
For Windoze 95, etc. he will need Compaq's special drivers for their
video, sound, etc.
