I assume it was just a little amplifier (op-amp based?)
to boost the
cassette output signal from the 'CSAVE-ing' machine to the levels needed
for the cassette input on the 'CLOAD-ing' machine. Oh, and the switch I
mentioned, and connectors.
I'll have to dig through my listing of RS part#'s and see if
I can pinpoint some info on it. I've always been interested in the
set up but that was the one and only time I've either seen or used
it. I do remember there being a switchbox for selecting one or
multiple machines to receive the data but don't remember anything
about the way it was wired up. Given that the diskless machines had
cassette recorders plugged up to me standard cassette port, I wonder
if there wasn't some kind of interface card for the network
connection itself though.
