I do remember one, and only one, program that came outunder ms-dos 2.1x and
would not run under 3.x....Battlezone. I have no idea why it wouldn't run
under anything other than 2.1x other than maybe the compiler used routines
and addresses from that dos. Other than that, you are absolutley right as I
still run a few games and such from back in the 2.11 days, even in MSDOS mode
on a Win95 machine.
Some programs (and Microsoft programs were notorious for this) would check
the version and refuse to run unless it was *equal* to the version it was
expecting. The correct way would have been equal or greater than.
