Very interesting! I recall that Standard Oil in East Chicago, IN where I
grew up had one of the 1800's and allowed high-school students to program
it on weekends.
Does anyone know if the same design situation was true of the 1710, or was
the 1710 really just a 1620 with extra hardware?
